Clerk John Frey Endorses Mark Kelly

Arlington, October 25

Today, Mark Kelly announced the endorsement of his candidacy for the 17th Judicial Circuit Clerk of Court by Fairfax County Clerk John Frey.

“Mark Kelly has spent his entire professional life in public service. His legal training and years of executive experience on Capitol Hill make him the perfect choice to succeed David Bell in the Clerk’s office. Mark is the right choice for Clerk of the Court on November 6th,” said Frey.

John Frey was first elected Clerk of the largest circuit court in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1991. John is a past President of the Virginia Metropolitan Circuit Court Clerks’ Association and is a past President of the National Association of County Recorders Election Officials and Clerks (NACRC). In 2006, John received the Public Official of the Year Award from the NACRC. This year, Leroy Roundtree Hassell, Sr., the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia, appointed John to an advisory committee to “assist the Chief Justice with the administration of justice in our circuit courts.”

“I am honored to have John Frey’s endorsement,” Kelly said. “John is a well regarded public servant who has spent 16 years as the Clerk of the largest circuit court in Virginia and has successfully implemented new technology initiatives like I have proposed.”

Mark Kelly spent eight years in management positions, including six years as a Chief of Staff to a U.S. Congressman on Capitol Hill. He has been a member of the Virginia Bar since 1996.
