Mark Kelly is campaigning to be clerk of Arlington’s Circuit Court, a position vacated by the retirement of Clerk David Bell.
“I think we offer the people of Arlington a great slate of candidates,” committee Chairman Rafael Bejar said. “We provide an alternate position to the existing County Board.”
Ferguson is not seeking re-election, but is running against Kelly for the clerk’s position.
Kelly was chief of staff to the former Rep. Jim Ryun of Kansas for six years.
“The clerk has hundreds of statutory responsibilities, and I want to put my years of day-to-day management experience to work for the people of Arlington,” Kelly said in a statement.
His platform includes installing a new online land record filing system and improving the clerk’s Web site.
